Organisational Development Community of Practice and Data Science and AI Group – Supporting Partners on Digitalisation and Ethical AI Integration

The Organisational Development Community of Practice and Data Science and AI Group will host “Supporting Partners on Digitalisation and Ethical AI Integration”, online on 23 June.

Among the key areas of Organisational Development, digital resilience and capacity are now essential for grantees and foundations alike. The rapid evolution of AI and growing cyber security concerns are top of mind and have become mainstream areas of OD support. Digital capacity is increasingly a strategic enabler of impact, helping grantees operate safely and sustainably in an increasingly complex digital environment.

This session explores how foundations can strengthen support to digital resilience and capacity across their portfolios.. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of current trends and challenges in digital capacity-building, including the opportunities and risks associated with AI adoption, growing cyber threats, and ethical considerations. The session will examine how funders and their partners are responding, what responsible and equitable use of AI looks like in practice, and where funders can most effectively focus their support.

The discussion will move beyond protecting individual organisations to consider how foundations can strengthen digital resilience at scale: safeguarding operations and data, anticipating emerging AI‑driven risks, and supporting sustainable digital development across entire portfolios.

The session is particularly relevant for foundation decision‑makers, programme staff, and organisational development leads who are seeking to respond more effectively to the digital development needs of their grantee partners.
