Data Science Group – Being a Data Scientist in a Climate Foundation

The Data Science Group will host “Being a Data Scientist in a Climate Foundation” online on 14 February, to explore the various processes and tools utilised by data scientists working in climate foundations.

Philanthropy actors are realising the strategic importance of data science and the role it plays in allowing for foundations to fully maximise their impact. There are also growing expectations on grantmaking foundations to play a greater role in times of crises, including the climate emergency. As more and more foundations bring data scientists on board, there is growing demand from data scientists to orientate themselves within the sector and learn about data science processes in other foundations.

The event will be structured around two presentations from Jack Gallastegui, Network Analysis Manager, The European Climate Foundation and Stephanie Suttenberg, Data Management Associate, ClimateWorks Foundation, who will each present on the work of their foundations and go into further detail on their roles as data scientists by presenting various processes and tools optimised for their work.
