New survey to map philanthropy infrastructure across Central and Eastern Europe
A new survey has been launched to map the organisations, networks, platforms and initiatives that help philanthropy and civic action across Central and Eastern Europe.
How do organisations across Central and Eastern Europe strengthen philanthropy, giving, civic action, trust and solidarity? The survey seeks to identify key actors, document practices, understand how organisations describe their role and contribution and discover the experiences that have shaped the field over time. It is open to organisations that support giving and philanthropy, mobilise resources, strengthen communities, influence policy, build trust or foster collaboration in philanthropy.
The findings of the survey will contribute to a growing knowledge base on philanthropy infrastructure in Central and Eastern Europe, highlighting emerging roles, practices and trends. Selected examples may be featured as case studies, showcased through peer-learning exchanges and inspire approaches that others can adapt and replicate in their own contexts.
The survey is part of “PEXperiment: Philanthropy Infrastructures for Trust and Solidarity in Central and Eastern Europe”, one of ten PEXperiments launched by the PEX Collective in 2026. The initiative seeks to explore what makes philanthropy infrastructure in Central and Eastern Europe distinctive, and what can the wider European field learn from its capacity to adapt, innovate and sustain civic action under pressure.
The survey is open until 15 September 2026.
