International Society for Third-Sector Research (ISTR) opens applications for the ISTR 2020 Emerging Scholar Dissertation Award

The International Society for Third-Sector Research (ISTR) has opened applications for the ISTR 2020 Emerging Scholar Dissertation Award.

The ISTR Emerging Scholar Dissertation Award is presented biennially for a PhD dissertation completed or defended in the two calendar years (July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2019) preceding the award that contribute to the field of comparative study of civil society organisations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), philanthropy and voluntarism.

Submissions of PhD dissertations from all parts of the world are accepted however dissertations that focus exclusively on the United States are not eligible. The winner will be announced and the award will be given at the ISTR 14th International Conference in Montreal, Canada, which will be held July 7-10, 2020. The award is US $1,000.

Dissertations may be submitted in English, French, German, Spanish, and Portuguese.

The deadline for dissertations and accompanying materials must be submitted prior to 15 January, 2020.
