Vienna – Not in the too distant future, but right here and now
The exhibition ”Not in the too distant future, but right here and now”, created by the Aydın Doğan Foundation, was on display at the 31st EFC Annual Conference in Vienna from 18-20 October.
The Aydın Doğan Foundation believes that educating our younger generations to honour universal values and contribute to a sustainable world is an important pillar for a better tomorrow. For this purpose, the Foundation has always focused on educational, social and cultural activities.
In today’s world, where our climate and global stability is threatened more than ever, responses and solutions are imminent. We need real sustainable change, not in the distant future, but right here and now for climate, democracy, society and philanthropy.
The Aydın Doğan Foundation firmly believes that it is the responsibility of each individual to listen to the “other” and to nature so that societies may transform the way for a fairer world in an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding.
Building such an atmosphere requires a common language and cartoons can serve as the building blocks of this language. It is with this goal in mind that the Foundation has organized the Aydın Doğan International Cartoon Competition for 37 years. Around 3,000 cartoons compete every year, and 300 of these are chosen and presented to an international jury.
