Philanthropic Leadership Platform: China-Europe Alumni Event 2025

The Philanthropic Leadership Platform: China-Europe will host an Alumni Event 2025 on 26-28 March 2025 in Philanthropy House, Brussels

Recent global developments and long-term societal trends have illuminated the gravity of the systemic racial, social and economic inequalities that exist in the world today. These inequalities crosscut all philanthropic efforts because of its many dimensions: gender, age, ethnicity, disability, orientation, geographic location, and financial status.

We have started to see how significantly these inequalities can disrupt societies, economies, countries and our way of life. Widening inequality results in rising polarisation and diminishing democracy. The status quo is no longer sustainable, and the time has come to address the issue. A good starting point would be to examine the interconnectedness of all forms of inequalities.

The Alumni Event is exclusively open to European Fellows of the Philanthropic Leadership Platform: China-Europe. The programme boasts a pool of approximately 70 European fellows from the seven editions that have taken place since 2016. Participants may come from any edition, and may not be familiar with one another.

As such, the primary objective is not to focus on reconnecting with the details of the exchange programme, as memories may have faded over time. Instead, the emphasis will be on creating a meaningful and forward-looking dialogue among fellows who have shared similar experiences, though at different points in time.
