Operations Professional Network – Emerging Impacts: Exploring the Effects of MacKenzie Scott’s Large, Unrestricted Gifts with the Center for Effective Philanthropy

The Operations Professionals Network and Center for Effective Philanthropy will organise “Emerging Impacts: Exploring the Effects of MacKenzie Scott’s Large, Unrestricted Gifts with the Center for Effective Philanthropy” online on 26 March.

Since she began giving large, unrestricted and often unannounced gifts to nonprofits, MacKenzie Scott’s philanthropic activities have diverged from more common approaches in philanthropy, earning both praise and critique. The Center for Effective Philanthropy (CEP) has been analysing the effects and emerging impacts of these gifts. For the first time, the extent Scott’s giving has influenced other funders’ approaches has been examined, alongside questions on whether nonprofits believe the grant has increased their impact, and in what ways, as well as how they have allocated the money and whether they have experienced any unintended negative consequences.

The webinar will cover data from CEP’s research on the emerging impacts of MacKenzie Scott’s large, unrestricted gifts to nonprofits and feature a conversation with the OPN community.

This webinar is invitation-only for members of the OPN Community of Practice.
