Journalism Funders Forum and Civitates – AI, the ‘Agentic’ Web and the Future of Public-Interest News and Information
The Journalism Funders Forum and Civitates will host “AI, the ‘Agentic’ Web and the Future of Public-Interest News and Information” online on 26 October.
What happens to journalism when people stop clicking? As AI agents, software’s that use tools and complete tasks on a user’s behalf, become more popular and replace search engines and social media, becoming our main gateway to information, the revenue loops that keep news alive may not survive.
This webinar will share findings from the Workshop on the Agentic Information Future on whether AI agents can coexist with today’s information systems, keep people creating original content, and avoid control by a few companies. The session will then look at what this means for media sustainability in Europe, from new ways to earn revenue to what funders can do now to keep independent journalism alive.
