How to Use the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and EU Law to Defend Philanthropic Space

Philea and the European Center for Not-for-Profit Law (ECNL) will host a training “How to Use the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and EU Law to Defend Philanthropic Space” in Brussels on 3 December.
As civic and philanthropic space continues to shrink, this session will guide Philea members on how to use EU law and the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights to protect philanthropy.
Drawing on expert analysis of how the Charter and its relationship with the ECHR applies to foundations, the session will explore practical avenues for action, including infringement procedures and the EU rule of law mechanism.
This event is part of Empowering Philanthropy Infrastructure for Change (EPIC), a project co-funded by the European Union.
