Gender Equality Diversity and Inclusion Network – Empowering Foundations for Gender Equality: I Don’t Do Gender, Why Should I Care?

The first module of the Gender Equality Diversity and Inclusion Network peer-learning programme “Empowering Foundations for Gender Equality” will explore “I Don’t Do Gender, Why Should I Care?” online on 27 June.

The Gender Equality Diversity and Inclusion Network aims to inspire and empower foundation representatives to advance gender equality in their operations and programs with its new peer-learning programme “Empowering Foundations for Gender Equality”. Participants will gain knowledge, develop practical skills and network with peers, enabling them to design and implement gender-responsive initiatives effectively. This initiative is crucial as gender equality is essential for sustainable development, peace, and democracy.

The first module will explore gender integration, using the example of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, using insights into its history, rationale, and evolution over time. Additionally, members of the network representing a diverse range of foundations will discuss their engagement with gender and the reasons behind it.
