Funders International Network for Development – Shaping Tomorrow Together: Strategy, Solidarity and Dialogue

The Funders International Network for Development (FIND) will come together on 4-5 December in Brussels under the theme of “Shaping Tomorrow Together: Strategy, Solidarity and Dialogue”.
In a time of global transformation, where traditional aid models are being reimagined and the space for civil society is under pressure, philanthropy is stepping forward with renewed purpose. Official Development Assistance (ODA) is under strain. Bilateral donors are scaling back, and multilateral institutions face growing demands. At the same time, philanthropy in Europe is growing in influence, with over €516 billion in assets and €76 billion disbursed in 2023. Foundations are increasingly investing in locally led development, impact finance, and strategic partnerships that go beyond traditional aid.
The European Commission, through its Global Gateway strategy and Team Europe approach, is actively seeking new forms of collaboration. The recent White Paper on Leveraging Philanthropy in EU External Relations, co-developed by Philea, WINGS, and “la Caixa” Foundation, outlines six pillars for transformative engagement, from co-financing instruments to structured dialogue platforms.
This gathering is a moment of hope and ambition. It is a space to reaffirm our shared values, explore innovative models of partnership, and engage in meaningful dialogue with key stakeholders shaping the future of international cooperation. The two-day gathering will celebrate our collective progress, deepen our strategic alignment, and chart bold new paths for collaboration.
