Funders International Network for Development – International Cooperation Philanthropy: Scaling Through Collaboration, Innovation and Ecosystem Thinking

The Funders International Network for Development (FIND) will host ” Emerging Trends in International Cooperation Philanthropy: Scaling Through Collaboration, Innovation and Ecosystem Thinking” on 18 May, in Copenhagen, just before the Philea Forum 2026.

International cooperation philanthropy is transforming rapidly, shaped by shifting geopolitics, rising constraints on cross-border giving, new models of catalytic capital, and a global move towards locally‑led development and ecosystem-based strategies. Amid these changes, foundations across Europe and beyond are experimenting with new forms of collaboration, innovative funding mechanisms, and cross-border partnerships capable of scaling impact far beyond traditional grantmaking.

This session will explore real stories of emerging philanthropic practices, identify opportunities to co-create or scale collaborative initiatives, exchange around challenges and enabling conditions and connect peers seeking partnerships across geographies, missions, and models.

Designed for foundations of all sizes, this space will support new relationships and ideas that can help move philanthropic work beyond organisational silos.
