Communications Professionals in Philanthropy Community of Practice – Empowering Engagement: Stakeholder Management and Strategic Communication for Foundations

The Communications Professionals in Philanthropy Community of Practice will come together on 21-22 October to explore “Empowering Engagement: Stakeholder Management and Strategic Communication for Foundations” in Philanthropy House, Brussels.

In today’s rapidly changing philanthropic landscape, the ability to communicate effectively and manage relationships with stakeholders is more important than ever. Foundations play a crucial role in addressing societal challenges but the success of these efforts hinges on how well we engage communities and foster partnerships. As communications professionals, we operate at the intersection of strategy, influence and action, ensuring that every message we convey and every relationship we nurture supports the foundation’s mission.

This event will focus on how strategic communication can not only amplify impact but also build lasting, meaningful relationships. Together, we will explore the tools and practices needed to manage diverse communities effectively, align strategies with partners and create resilient communication networks in times of both opportunity and crisis.

We will explore how to work collaboratively with staff, trustees and partners to develop communication strategies that support both internal and external goals. Through peer case studies we will demonstrate examples of effective stakeholder management and community-building, leveraging a diverse range of approaches and formats.

How can we ensure these strategies remain flexible enough to adapt to the evolving needs of partnerships and stakeholder relations? How do we build and nurture communities effectively through strategic communication? What are the key challenges in managing diverse stakeholders and grantees, and how can communication help address them?
