Children and Youth Network – How to Put Youth Agency at the Core of Funders’ Processes and Decision-Making

The Children and Youth Network will host the fifth module of its peer-learning journey on “How to Involve Children and Youth in Your Work” exploring “How to Put Youth Agency at the Core of Funders’ Processes and Decision-Making” online on 6 March October.

Starting from the Future Chair programme, the session will underline the importance and relevance of considering young people’s views and fostering intergenerational dialogue to collaborate effectively and drive organisations towards sustainable impact. Additionally, it will dive into the concept of enabling conditions and why they are relevant for meaningful youth participation.

This session is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to reflect upon practices of youth influence in decision-making processes of foundations and philanthropic organisations. The module will offer practical tips and insights on the challenges and opportunities within the process and examples of youth implication in the decision-making practices of Italian foundations.

The peer-learning journey “How to Involve Children and Youth in Your Work” is a series of online webinars organised by Philea’s Children and Youth Network to take place throughout 2024. The aim is to advance youth inclusion in the work of foundations by providing concrete pathways and tools to implement. Following each module, foundations that are willing to transform their way of working with young people can benefit from input from organisations with specific expertise on a given topic.

This is a series of modules, with the first module covering Youth Advisory Boards, the second module on participation methods, the third on conducting research with young people and the fourth on developing youth leadership.
