Children and Youth Network – How to Involve Children and Youth in Your Work: Module 3: How to Conduct Research with Young People
The Children and Youth Network will host the third module of its peer-learning journey on “How to Involve Children and Youth in Your Work” exploring “How to Conduct Research with Young People” online on 28 June.
Participatory research is not particularly prestigious in Germany and is not used as commonly as in other European countries, and especially not in child and youth research. In this module, representatives from Bertelsmann Stiftung and Goethe University report on the participatory research project Peer2Peer, in which educational scientists and young people, as so-called co-researchers, conducted research in cooperation with the Bertelsmann Stiftung. From 2020-2023, Peer2Peer carried out a total of 25 group discussions and reached 112 children and young people. We asked them about their needs, but also about their accessibility.
This module will explore the approach, insights from the implementation and realisation as well as findings and an exchange on Peer2Peer.
The peer-learning journey “How to Involve Children and Youth in Your Work” is a series of online webinars organised by Philea’s Children and Youth Network to take place throughout 2024. The aim is to advance youth inclusion in the work of foundations by providing concrete pathways and tools to implement. Following each module, foundations that are willing to transform their way of working with young people can benefit from input from organisations with specific expertise on a given topic.
This is a series of modules, with the first module covering Youth Advisory Boards in February and the second module on participation methods in April. The rest of the modules will take place: Module 4 – September, Module 5 – November.
