EFC Annual Conference 2021 Vienna – Opening plenary

Hosted by ERSTE Stiftung, the Opening plenary took place in the Gartenbaukino on 18 October and opened with a few words from Andreas Treichl, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ERSTE Stiftung and Kenan al Baredi, star of the award-winning conference trailer.

EFC Chair Angel Font introduced the EFC membership to Chief Executive Delphine Moralis, who invited the guests of the opening panel Kumi Naidoo, Global Ambassador for Africans Rising for Justice & Dignity, Anne-Birgitte Albrectsen, CEO of LEGO Foundation and Andreas Treichl to discuss the challenges which where addressed during the conference. Franz Karl Prüller, Senior Advisor of ERSTE Stiftung introduced Gergely Karácsony, Mayor of Budapest and Mārtiņš Staķis, Mayor of Riga, for their statements.

The plenary closed with the four conference moderators Lucy Bernholz, Claire Boulanger, Liz McKeon and Lakshmi Sundaram presenting the four thematic tracks.
