Our new affiliates:

Community of Sant’Egidio – Italy

The Community of Sant’Egidio was established in 1968 to promote justice, peace, development, international cooperation and the protection of human rights. It is now a movement with over 70.000 supporters and is active throughout Italy and in 72 other countries worldwide. The Community of Sant’Egidio also works on humanitarian emergencies, health in Africa, and promotes the abolition of death penalty worldwide.

 

Journalism Funders Forum – Netherlands

The Journalism Funders Forum is an open community of European foundations and journalists established by the European Journalism Centre in 2017 to ensure more effective and impactful funding of journalism in Europe. Their goals are to:

  1. Connect stakeholders from philanthropy and journalism in Europe.
  2. Ensure more effective and impactful funding of journalism in Europe.
  3. Increase the amount of philanthropic organisations funding journalism in Europe.

To address these issues and help co-shape the European media funding sector, the Journalism Funders Forum run events, workshops, webinars, research, reports and newsletters.

 

Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights – Switzerland

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is the leading UN body for human rights, created in 1993 at the World Conference on Human Rights by Member States of the United Nation and is directly accountable to the Secretary General and the General Assembly.

The mission of the OHCHR is to work for the protection of all human rights for all people; to help empower people to realize their rights; and to assist those responsible for upholding such rights in ensuring that they are implemented. The OHCHR has six pillars: Accountability, Participation, Non-discrimination, Development, Peace and Security, and the International Human Rights Mechanisms.
