Novo Nordisk Foundation allocate DKK 20 million for research into preparedness for and response to new viral infections
The Novo Nordisk Foundation has allocated DKK 20 million to support research and development that can help Denmark to strengthen its preparedness for and response to future new viral epidemics.
The initiative comes in the wake of the ongoing spread of coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as a means to prepare for future events. The grants for interdisciplinary research and development cover projects that provide surveillance and early detection of viral infections, the development of new technologies for preventing or controlling epidemics and the optimisation of national responses to new viral diseases, including policy, procedure, treatment, and technology.
