Facing Change exhibition, by Genio opens at Philanthropy House

The exhibition ‘Facing Change’ opened at Philanthropy House on the 16 January at an event that also saw the launch of the European Social Catalyst Fund.

The exhibition, created by Genio captures the real-life changes experienced by those who have been supported by projects funded through the Government of Ireland and Genio over the past decade. It features 10 portraits and 10 films of inspiring people from the four corners of Ireland, from a variety of backgrounds and across ages and genders. They have all been supported to overcome personal challenges related to mental health, disability, homelessness and dementia and to have more control over their own lives and live in the community.

The opening was attended by approximately 40 people, including relatives of some of the people the portraits capture, and others who had also come to mark the launch of another initiative Genio is involved in, the European Social Catalyst Fund. The Fund backed by a consortium of Genio, the King Baudouin Foundation and Robert Bosch Stiftung, along with the DG for Research and Innovation will seek to support the development of detailed implementation plans to scale proven social innovations.

The exhibition is open Monday to Friday, from 9:30 to 17:00 until 31 March.
