COVID-19 Response Fund launched by WHO and UN Foundation with the support of Transnational Giving Europe
A COVID-19 Response Fund has been launched by the WHO and UN Foundation, with the support of the Transnational Giving Europe (TGE) network, to strengthen efforts against coronavirus, and create a pooled fund for a global response.
The brand new fund, hosted by the TGE network, will support work to track and understand the spread of the virus, to ensure patients get the care they need and to help the front line workers to get essential supplies and information, and accelerate efforts to develop vaccines, tests and treatments.
The fund will be hosted by the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation, who as members of TGE, along with members in 19 other European states, will help to facilitate donations to the fund from across Europe. These organisations include a number of EFC members:
- Charities Aid Foundation
- Fondation de France
- Fondation de Luxembourg
- Fundação Oriente
- King Baudouin Foundation
- Maecenata Stiftung
- Open Estonia Foundation
- Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds
