New SPARC Europe report illuminates how European research funders are approaching Open policies
A new report by SPARC Europe provides insights into how European research funders are approaching Open Access and Open Science policies, incentives and practices.
The report is based on a survey conducted in spring 2019, and is the first report of its kind to examine what key international funding bodies are doing to incentivise openness to the work they help fund. The report aims to spur more widespread support for Open research and to advance Open Access to research results in Europe.
The survey was led by SPARC Europe in consultation with the European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities (ALLEA), the EFC and Science Europe, received 62 responses from 29 European countries presented a comprehensive data set for research funders in Europe and has helped SPARC Europe to compile several suggestions that research funders may consider to improve Open Access and Open Science.
