New country profiles published
We are pleased to announce the publication of the second round of country profiles within the frame of the Legal Environment for Philanthropy in Europe project.
After the publication of profiles for the EU Member States in December 2020, this time we have the honor to present legal and fiscal profiles for 12 countries from wider Europe: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Russia, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom. Please visit the website here.
These profiles are an outcome of the cooperation with the network of national experts, whose extensive expertise in the philanthropic sector provides an excellent resource for everyone interested in the operating environment for philanthropic organisations in a respective country. The mapping project also seeks to provide insights on the current development and trends throughout Europe and serve as “the alert system on a national level,” enabling timely reactions to threats or negative developments in a given country.
Moreover, the data provided by national experts are also an important basis for the next phase of the project, which is providing a comparative perspective of legal regulations for a wide audience namely the policy-makers, academia, the philanthropy sector, and philanthropic advisors. Comparative work will be followed by a series of events on different topics touched upon by the mapping exercise.
