Better Way Foundation
We partner with organisations leveraging solutions that are systemic (they target the root causes and underlying systemic drivers), collaborative (they promote participation of diverse stakeholders) and effectively address the problem.
Our approach to funding is trust-based, aimed at redistributing power, fostering relationships based on mutual learning and collaboration, and putting the needs and wisdom of grantees at the forefront. In addition, the Foundation’s work is guided by “The 8 Model” in which the bottom-up empowerment of communities and social movements intertwines with top-down political and
resource shifts, fostering the grassroots innovation and driving systemic reforms.
Most of our grants are non-project based and predominantly unrestricted (between 67-90% of grants made are flexible).
