LEGO Foundation publishes new report “Learning Through Play” highlighting the importance of play to childhood development
The LEGO Foundation has published “Learning Through Play: increasing impact, reducing inequality”, a new report highlighting the important role of play in early childhood development and offering suggestions to policymakers on its impact on inequality.
The report, drawing evidence from early childhood learning programmes across 18 countries, as well as interviews with the authors of various studies, shows the importance of play to children’s learning and demonstrates the role it also plays in supporting inclusion and reducing inequality. Inequality in learning negatively impacts millions of children’s development worldwide and while inequality has been a challenging issue for decades, the current pandemic has exacerbated it.
