European Parliament discusses need for a Single Market for Philanthropy

The European Parliament launched at its plenary of 21 October 2021 a debate on the need for “A Single Market for Philanthropy”. The debate was initiated by Vice-President Nicola Beer and MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk. The aim of the resolution is to unlock the potential of philanthropy in the recovery and future of Europe, mobilising complementary private resources for the public good and facilitating cross-border giving and philanthropic action.

“Comparative Highlights of Foundation Laws” are launched – the most comprehensive overview to date of legal and fiscal regulation of philanthropy in Europe

The launch event provided a unique space for a discussion over the key findings of the 2021 “Comparative Highlights of Foundation Laws”, a comparative overview of the diverse legal and fiscal environments for foundations from across 40 countries. The event convened more than 100 participants from philanthropy, academia and the EU institutions. The recording of the event will be shortly available on the Philanthropy Advocacy website.
