IKEA Foundation commits €1 billion to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
The IKEA Foundation has committed €1 billion to climate programmes over the next five years to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, in alignment with the Paris Agreement.
This new funding will see the foundation support renewable energy initiatives which can deliver reductions in greenhouse gas emissions fast and efficiently. This includes replacing polluting sources of energy with renewable ones and providing access to energy to communities. This new commitment comes in addition to the €500 million which the IKEA Foundation has already planned to spend on climate mitigation and adaptation programmes over the next five years and the €368 million spent between 2014 and 2020 on similar programmes.
