”Funding for LGBTI Activism in Europe and Central Asia” – new report from the Global Philanthropy Project and ILGA-Europe
The Global Philanthropy Project and ILGA-Europe have released their report ”Funding for LGBTI Activism in Europe and Central Asia: Priorities and Access to Resources” that was launched in October 2018.
The report seeks to analyse European and central Asian grant-making data on the funding for LGBTI initiatives during 2015 and 2016, based upon data from the Global Resources Report. The report provides serious challenges to many assumptions about grantmaking activity in the LGBTI in Europe and central Asia and highlights clear pathways and opportunities for grantmaking going forward. For the report’s official release there will also be a webinar to discuss its findings and hear from its authors.
The report, and the issues it seeks to highlight will form part of the discussions at one of the parallel sessions at this year’s EFC AGA and Conference in Paris. The session, titled ”LGBTI activism in Europe – Shifting funding paradigms” takes place on the 24th of May and will seek to explore and utilise new data to demonstrate how movement trends and related funding gaps and opportunities can offer strategic direction towards what needs to be done.
