“Standing with Ukraine: How philanthropy can do its part next to EU action” A conversation with Vice President Margaritis Schinas
At the next “Philanthropy for Ukraine” event on the 14 June (16:00-17:00 CET), Vice President of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas will join sector leaders for a conversation on the role of philanthropy in the current Ukraine crisis next to EU action.
Margaritis Schinas was appointed Vice President of the Von Der Leyen Commission in 2019 with the mandate to ensure the “European way of life”, which includes protecting and ensuring consumers’ protection, fundamental rights, European security, and Judicial cooperation. He will deliver a keynote and discuss with sector leaders from Ukraine and beyond how philanthropic organizations can effectively deploy their resources and cooperate with European institutions to preserve the Rule of Law, tackle the migrations crisis, and protect art and cultural heritage in Ukraine while operating amidst such a humanitarian crisis.
Delphine Moralis, CEO, Philea will moderate the discussion with VP Schinas, that will see questions and inputs from Ukrainian and European sector leaders.
