Overcoming Barriers to Cross-Border Philanthropy
As a follow up to the Guide towards a single EU market for philanthropy published earlier this year, Philea and the King Baudouin Foundation will host “Overcoming Barriers to Cross-border Philanthropy” online on 14 November from 12 to 13:30, to examine the existing barriers and potential solutions to overcome them.
Social and environmental issues do not stop at borders and we need all hands on deck to address them. Philanthropy has a lot to contribute, although donors still face significant administrative and tax obstacles when they want to give across borders. The recent Social Economy Council Recommendations call on Member States to facilitate cross-border donations and help unlock philanthropy’s potential.
