The Migration and Belonging Network will host “What if the Narrative Battle Around Migration is Already Lost? Rethinking Narrative Change” online on 22 September.
What if the narrative battle on migration has already been fought and lost? It’s a tough assumption but one that invites foundations to pause and rethink what narrative work is for and how it is done. Could speaking about migration start with agrifood systems, with democracy, with climate change, or with pop culture? Could those entry points help actors discover shared stakes across issue areas? And could that turn narrative change into something people live day to day?
The Migration and Belonging Network is convening funders for an online exchange on what these questions mean in practice. The session will open with insights from Migration Matters and Unbound Philanthropy, followed by an interactive exchange on new narrative entry points, cross-sectoral partnerships, and concrete ways to reimagine philanthropic narrative practice by backing movement capacity, community‑led storytelling, and long‑term narrative infrastructure.
