Mediterranean Children’s Movement: Peace Conference 2026 – Connected by Sea for Peace

The Mediterranean Children’s Movement will host the Peace Conference 2026 under the theme of “Connected by Sea for Peace” on 25-29 November in Valetta.

The Mediterranean has long been a meeting point of cultures, histories and civilizations, united by a shared commitment to dialogue and coexistence. At a time when the region faces increasing social, environmental and geopolitical challenges, there is a growing need to create spaces where future generations can contribute to building a more peaceful and inclusive Mediterranean.

To mark the Day of the Mediterranean, the Mediterranean Children’s Movement (MCM) will convene a three-day regional conference in Malta bringing together children, civil society organisations, educators, policymakers and international partners from across the Mediterranean to explore the role of children in promoting peace, dialogue and social cohesion.

The conference; Connected By Sea, For Peace, will provide a unique platform for intercultural exchange and child participation, recognising children not only as beneficiaries of peace but as active contributors to its creation. Through dialogue, creative expression and collaborative activities, participants will reflect on the values that unite Mediterranean societies while exploring common challenges and opportunities for regional cooperation.
