KoneKtor 2025 – Navigating Uncertainty: Civil Society and Philanthropy Rising to the Occasion
The KoneKtor – Philanthropy East Forum will host KoneKtor 2025 “Navigating Uncertainty: Civil Society and Philanthropy Rising to the Occasion” in Vienna on 23-25 September, hosted by the Caritas Foundation Austria.
The civil society sector and philanthropy have long been pillars of hope and action, defending rights, safeguarding democracy, supporting communities and amplifying unheard voices. Yet, as the world faces deepening polycrises and unravelling systems, our transformative potential and collective positionality raise many dilemmas.
Meaningful renewal begins with a critical and honest reflection. KoneKtor 2025 is dedicated to the theme of “Navigating Uncertainty”, it is an invitation to step back and critically reflect upon what must we relinquish to rise to the occasion? What habits, narratives, and power dynamics have outlived their usefulness?
It is also a call to reflect on our collective positionality, how we show up, who we listen to, who we work with and what we prioritise. It is an invitation to examine how both sectors might renew themselves as champions and co-stewards of a future grounded in collective responsibility and peace.
We are at a crossroads where the familiar is failing, and the path forward demands courage, agility, and a willingness to unlearn. It is a call to unlearn, reconnect, and rebuild, across silos, borders, mindsets. It is also a call to celebrate the progress we make along the way, recognising small victories, honouring collective achievements, and caring for ourselves and each other as we navigate the complexity ahead of us.
Real change demands that we face the discomfort of transformation and grow into the kind of presence that our times demand.
