Getting Started on Your Climate Journey: Understanding the Science of Climate Change

WINGS and the European Philanthropy Coalition for Climate will host a webinar “Getting Started on Your Climate Journey: Understanding the Science of Climate Change” on 31 March to help build foundational knowledge across the philanthropy ecosystem.

The past year and, in fact, decade, has been defined by escalating climate impacts. Climate change amplifies existing inequality and acts as a threat multiplier for instability. In this context, understanding climate change is no longer optional for effective philanthropy, whatever your focus.

This webinar offers philanthropy practitioners an accessible entry point into the science of climate change. The session will provide an overview of the causes and consequences of climate change as well as insights from other philanthropies on evaluating the impact of climate change within different contexts.

This webinar is part of the “Getting Started on Your Climate Journey” learning series, designed to support foundations and Philanthropy Infrastructure Organisations get started on their climate journeys. Based on the framework of Philanthropy For Climate., this series invites practitioners to explore the climate crisis as a defining context for philanthropy and consider their own agency in response.
