European Foundation Financial and Investment Officers Group – Risk, Return and Responsibility in a Changing Europe
The European Foundation Financial and Investment Officers Group (EFFIO) will explore “Managing Legacies: Foundations, Endowments and the Future of Heritage” on 22-24 April in Essen, Germany, hosted by RAG-Stiftung.
The meeting will look at pressing investment questions, economic and geopolitical perspectives, how German funds operate and the practical realities of endowment management in an era of transformation. The programme will delve into the operational approaches of German institutional funds, including those managing the legacy of coal mining and nuclear waste storage, offering rare insight into how these organisations structure their investments and navigate their unique mandates.
The meeting combines deep dives into private equity performance, currency risk management and European economic outlook with an examination of how foundations balance long-term capital preservation with evolving societal responsibilities. A site visit will provide members with direct exposure to Germany’s industrial heritage and its ongoing transformation.
