Counting Sex Workers In! campaign shines spotlight on sex worker-led advocacy and sex workers’ rights
The Counting Sex Workers In! campaign, launched on 26 October, is shining a spotlight on sex worker-led advocacy and sex workers’ rights.
The campaign, by the The Count Me In! Consortium puts a spotlight on sex worker-led advocacy and highlights the voices and perspectives of sex workers of all genders so as to advance understanding that sex workers’ rights are human rights and a feminist issue. The campaign calls attention to the frequent experiences of discrimination, harassment and violence experienced by sex workers.
The campaign will run from 26 October to 10 November and is designed to start conversations, offer resources and encourage solidarity for sex workers and sex workers’ rights.
The Count Me In! consortium is led by Mama Cash, and includes the Red Umbrella Fund, CREA, the Association for Women’s Rights in Development, Just Associates, the Urgent Action Fund – Africa, and WO=MEN.
