Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and ”la Caixa” launch joint fund for arts and social inclusion in Portugal
The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and ”la Caixa” have launched the PARTIS & Art for Change programme, a new joint initiative worth €1.5 million seeking to support social inclusion and the arts in Portugal.
The collaboration will see both foundations utilise their years of experience to support the social inclusion of the arts in Portugal, contributing equally to a joint fund that will combine the work of Gulbenkian’s PARTIS initiative and la Caixa’s Art for Change initiative to provide financing for artistic projects for social inclusion.
The PARTIS initiative has since 2013 been designed to support projects that boost the role of the arts in integration paths and in building more just and cohesive communities and in 3 editions supported 48 projects with approximately €3 million.
Arts for Change was launched in 2008 in Spain with the objective of supporting artistic projects that promote social transformation and has so far financed 383 projects with approximately €5 million.
