Boris Marte appointed new CEO of ERSTE Stiftung

At its meeting on 27 September 2021, the Supervisory Board of ERSTE Stiftung appointed Boris Marte, a member of the foundation’s Managing Board since 2016, as CEO.

Marte, who takes up the position on 1 October, has previously acted as deputy CEO and replaces Mario Catasta, who is stepping down from his current position as CEO of ERSTE Foundation for private reasons. He will remain on the Managing Board as Deputy CEO.

The chairman of the Supervisory Board Andreas Treichl: “Mario Catasta informed me last week that he wanted to step down for private reasons, but that he would like to continue his availability to the ERSTE Foundation’s Managing Board. I would like to thank Mario very much for everything he has done in his life for the Erste Group and the ERSTE Foundation and I am happy that he will stay with our family. Boris Marte will primarily promote the further development on the content and project level and strengthen the positioning of the core shareholder of the Erste Group.”
