Call for applications to join InvestEU Investment Committee

European Commission call for applications to join the new InvestEU Investment Committee:

 

The European Commission has issued a Call for applications for the selection of members of the InvestEU Investment Committee: Deadline for applications is  Friday 7 May 2021 at 18:00 CET. As philanthropy infrastructure we want to encourage applications from the philanthropy/impact investing community.

 

The role of the  independent Investment Committee is to approve the use of the EU guarantee for financing and investment operations proposed by the implementing partners, taking its decision on the basis of the due diligence presented by the implementing partner in the so-called scoreboard and guarantee request form. In doing this, it verifies the compliance with the regulation and the investment guidelines, giving particular attention to the requirements of (i) additionality and (ii) crowding in private investment, as well with all the other relevant prerequisites. The Investment Committee meets in 4 different configurations, corresponding to the 4 policy windows. Sustainable Infrastructure; Research, Innovation and digitalisation; SMEs and Social investments, social economy and skills.The Investment Committee is fully independent. When participating in the activities of the Investment Committee, its members, who have experience in investment in sectors covered by the relevant policy window, perform their duties impartially and in the sole interest of the InvestEU Fund.

 

Looking for?: someone with at least 12 years of professional experience and the following skills:

Good knowledge of English (working language) plus one other official EU language;

Knowledge of the financial needs of SMEs and businesses in general;

Expertise in sustainable finance;

Knowledge of the four InvestEU’s policy windows

 

The Investment Committee will be composed of twelve independent members. Four members will be permanent members sitting in all the meetings of the Investment Committee. Eight non-permanent members will only sit in the meetings concerning the configuration of the Investment Committee to which they will be assigned.

It is a 4 year mandate, remuneration of 750€ per day worked.
