Staying vigilant when it comes to the space for European philanthropy
Worrisome developments in parts of Europe as well as globally have been seen recently, with questions being raised about the legitimacy of philanthropy and civil society actors, and intentional limitations imposed on the operating space for organised philanthropy and wider civil society. In a new blog published by Alliance, the EFC’s Hanna Surmatz, working within the joint DAFNE and EFC Philanthropy Advocacy, shares her thoughts on these developments, and how European funders and their infrastructure must be vigilant in maintaining and shaping their operational space.
