Philea and TGE launch survey on cross-border philanthropy in Europe
Despite the growing desire to give across borders, cross-border philanthropic action still faces many barriers both in EU and extra-EU contexts. In response, Philea and Transnational Giving Europe have launched a survey on the cross-border activity of individual and corporate donors, and philanthropic organisations across the EU and wider Europe.
The survey aims to assess the state of play on cross-border philanthropy and to collect case studies – including both negative and positive cases – to build the evidence base for our policy asks on a single market for philanthropy ahead of the 2024 European elections. The research will also help to exchange and promote best practices within the philanthropic sector.
