European Symposium on Enterprise Foundations

Fundación Mapfre will host the “European Symposium on Enterprise Foundations” on 23 April in Madrid, to discuss the challenges facing enterprise foundations and to debate their future.

The independent nature and commitment to continuity of enterprise foundations have made them key players in the response to the many challenges facing our society, such as the promotion of health, the advancement of research and the full inclusion of all people. In Spain, this type of foundation has been firmly established in recent decades, during which their international activity has increased. Beyond their own activities and the financial resources they contribute, enterprise foundations provide essential support for small social entities, helping them to carry out and publicise their projects.

In the European context, enterprise foundations have become one of the most effective tools that companies have for contributing to general interest causes, beyond their corporate social responsibility. However, one of the most immediate challenges is the definition of a common regulatory framework to support their activity in the European Union.
