European Social Economy Summit (#EUSES) – Enabling philanthropic action for social economy and the public good
Organised by the EFC and Dafne, the session “Enabling philanthropic action for social economy and the public good” will take place during the European Social Economy Summit (#EUSES) on 26 May, 11:30 – 13:00 (CET).
The session will explore with key European policymakers, researchers and representatives from the foundation and wider civil society sector, how the EU Institutions can help enable European foundations and other social economy actors to contribute as partners to a socially, environmentally and economically resilient Europe.
Foundations and philanthropic organisations play a key role in the European social economy sector as funders and investors as well as social economy actors in their own right. In this session, we will discuss the question of how foundations and philanthropic organisations can contribute to the European societies and economies, social inclusion as well as green and digital transitions and what barriers still exist that hinder cross-border philanthropy and investments for social good and how they could be overcome.
