Annual Disability Funders’ Forum 2019
The EFC’s Disability Thematic Network will host the Annual Disability Funders’ Forum on 19-20 November in Philanthropy House, Brussels, offering the chance for the network’s members to share, learn and inspire one and other and to identify potential issues of common interest and joint action.
This meeting is a key opportunity for foundations working on issues related to disability to connect with each other, explore potential synergies and get an update about the projects, initiatives and work currently going on across Europe.
Participants who are new to the field will have a chance to get to know more about the disability inclusion strategies that funders are using and showcase their projects. This year’s policy session will host policymakers and discuss the future shape of the next European Disability Strategy (2020-2030). The good practices session will shine a light on how funders promote the disability rights agenda through the SDGs and another session will focus on impact measurement. Finally, a workshop session will provide participants with the opportunity to reflect about their learning experience and discuss how to build on these new learnings and insights.
The Forum will feature a dedicated space for newcomers to present and showcase their work in promoting disability rights in 5 minutes, using 5 slides, in a 5×5 challenge.
The Forum will be followed by an afternoon joint meeting with the EFC’s Gender Equality Network that will dive into gender issues and disability inclusion in different programmatic areas and is open to all participants.
