An open invitation to contribute your thoughts and ideas on European Philanthropy.

We are open to opinion pieces and analytical articles addressing European philanthropy, latest developments and trends, next generation, innovative funding practices as well as pressing societal issues such as climate crisis, inequalities and digital transition.

Are you interested and wondering what is required?


What you need to know

  1. Your article must be in English, an original, unpublished content and should not be promotional. In select cases, we are able to translate from certain languages.
  2. Submissions should draw on a mix of facts, statistics, anecdotes, and experiences to make their case. They should be clearly structured, coherent and easy to follow. Wherever possible, cite and/or link to relevant sources.
  3. Please keep in mind that our audience is diverse. Pieces should be thought-provoking, engaging and meaningful to readers across the spectrum.
  4. The word limit for opinion pieces is between 800 to 1,000 words, for analytical articles between 1,500 – 2,000 words.
  5. Please include a 50-word blurb about your article highlighting your key insights. We will also need the author’s name, title and organisation as you would like them to appear, as well as relevant social media handles
  6. Please include a high-quality JPEG photograph of the author that displays clearly at 600 x 600 pixels. Find an image to illustrate your article, horizontal, 1000 pixels wide, not copyrighted. If you can’t find one, we can help source a copyright free picture.

Once submitted, your article will be put through our editorial process in accordance with Philea style guidelines. Prior to publication, a final version will be submitted to you for your approval.
